TAEKWONDO BELT REQUIREMENTS

The requirements for promotion to a higher belt at Champion Martial Arts Center Inc. are shown here and are posted and available at the school. Keep in mind that these are minimum requirements. Promotion greatly depends on each student’s technique. When the instructors feel a student is prepared to test for promotion, they will let the student know.

Periodically, the instructor will check to see if a student knows the requirements for the next belt. If the requirements are mastered, students may receive tapes on their belt. One tape is for Poomse (forms), and one tape is for Kicks (sparring combinations).

It is the student’s responsibility to know the required material for each belt test, which includes all previous Poomse and sparring combinations. When testing for a higher belt, the student must fill out an application prior to the test, wear the full uniform, and bring sparring gear to the test.

Poomse (forms): Descriptions and videos of the Tae Kwon Do forms (“tae geuks”) are available at this site.
